MEET JOHN TOMASSETTI
Throughout my life, I have overcome addiction, mental illness, homelessness, and being raised in poverty within a broken home here in Connecticut. For the longest time, I lived with absolutely no purpose or goals in my life. There were so many seasons where I truly didn’t know where I would sleep next or where my next meal would come from.
But with the help of an old friend of mine who took me off the streets, and being blessed enough to rekindle a romance with my high school sweetheart, the past decade of my life has taken a dramatic, providential turn. Today, I am the author of faith-centered books, including Frontline: Warrior of God, Pursuit, and In His Presence, a dedicated husband, a father, and a living testament to God’s absolute grace.

ORIGINS OF MASTERWORK

After I filmed my first wedding, I knew that this is exactly what I am meant to do. I knew that this was my God-given calling.
The immense value and worth my couples and I have both felt on their wedding days, simply from capturing the true essence of their love, is far beyond anything I can express in words. To truly be of humbling service at someone’s wedding and to offer them an heirloom they will possess and cherish for years to come is a mission that I am willing to work tirelessly for.
I have been so deeply blessed by God with immense praise, recognized awards, and incredible corporate opportunities since starting this company. I had the distinct pleasure of joining the elite production crew for a regional short film where we were nominated for several awards at the prestigious 48 Hour Film Project in New Haven, Connecticut. Crew members from the UFC’s official production teams here in New England have analyzed our wedding films and reached out with the utmost praise for the advanced cinematic skills we developed in such a short amount of time. Furthermore, over the past few years, I have been personally mentored by world-class filmmakers who have captured high-profile celebrity weddings for icons like Luke Combs and Jason Earles.
THE COME UP
I got back together with the love of my life, became a stepfather, and we immediately started to build a beautiful life together in Wallingford, Connecticut. In time, we had two sons of our own and became the absolute first homeowners in our immediate families after purchasing our house here in Meriden, Connecticut. When our youngest sons were born, we also found our life-changing faith in Jesus Christ, and by the grace of God, we created a stable, loving life for our children that we never had growing up.
Through Christ, I actively sought out my true calling. After facing so many tribulations and climbing countless spiritual mountains, I officially founded Masterwork Productions, my professional wedding videography and photography company in Connecticut. My passion for intentional cinema and my affinity with deep storytelling are gifts that I’ve cherished and been blessed with my entire life. From creating intricate scenes and compelling stories with action figures as a child and now doing the same with my own children today to thoroughly studying history and theology, writing various literary manuscripts, and penning cinematic screenplays, it all led to starting my own premier wedding production company.
I can confidently say that this is what I am divinely meant to do. God has shown me my true calling, proving that while a wedding day is an exceptional production, a marriage built on faith is a lifelong promise.
